SMS QR Code Generator: how it works
Scanning the code opens the messaging app with your number and an optional message ready to send. It suits offers, sign-ups and quick enquiries.
How to make a SMS QR code
- Enter the phone number to receive the text.
- Add the message text you want pre-filled.
- Style the code and download it with a free account.
Tips for a code that scans every time
- Include the country code if you expect people from other countries to scan.
- Pre-fill a keyword such as JOIN so your system can recognise it.
- Remember that the sender pays their normal text rate.
Frequently asked questions
Does the text send itself?
No. The messaging app opens with the text ready, and the person taps send.
Does it work on all phones?
Most modern iPhone and Android camera apps support it, but the exact behaviour depends on the phone.
Can I track scans?
Not on a static code. A dynamic code can show scan counts and locations.
