What you can and cannot expect from QR codes and the PurpleQR service.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

General information

PurpleQR is operated by AsyncCo. The service and this website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep QR codes, short links and hosted pages online, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Scanning and printing

How well a QR code scans depends on factors outside our control: print quality, size, contrast, surface, lighting, the logo or colours you choose, and the scanner app or phone used. Always test a code on several devices before printing in volume. We are not responsible for printing costs or losses caused by a code that does not scan.

User content and destinations

QR codes, short links and hosted pages point to content provided by our users. We do not control or endorse the content behind a code and are not responsible for it. If you scan a code, treat the destination as you would any link: check the address before entering personal or payment details. To report a harmful code, use our Report Abuse page.

Static and dynamic codes

Static QR codes contain their data directly and keep working without our servers. Dynamic QR codes and hosted pages depend on an active PurpleQR account; if a paid plan ends, dynamic codes can be paused as described in our Terms of Service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AsyncCo is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
